Using projection mapping, SnowSense brings polar bears and icebergs to life. Viewers' interactions trigger dynamic effects and animations. However, the twist lies in the message conveyed. Rather than a typical rescue narrative, SnowSense reveals the consequences of human actions. Audience interactions simulate factors contributing to global warming, such as oil exploration, carbon emissions, and harmful gas release. This leads to visible degradation of the icebergs and negatively affects the polar bears. The intention is to emphasize the direct link between human behavior and environmental consequences. SnowSense prompts viewers to reflect on their individual impact and the collective responsibility in combating global warming. It delivers a powerful message through visually captivating projection mapping.
“Heat Escape” is a digital creation with Anamorphic Illusion in two specific panels (this required audience to stand in a specific angle and distance for best viewing) and supportive motion in other sides on a cube screen. It focuses on the 13th SDG – Climate Action. The graphics animation is created based on audio data of news and sounds related to disaster happened caused by human. The uneasy feeling that is created both visually and auditorily aims to raise the awareness of the audience about global warming issues. The conceptual sphere in an anamorphic view symbolizes our mother earth. The changes of the shapes and elements on it represent each act of human to our earth – Deforestation, Air Pollution, and Water Pollution, which ultimately causes global warming. Earth will find its way to recover, but if humans continue the exploitation, the loop will never end, and the extinction of human being will be inevitable. How are we going to escape from this?
This project raises awareness about the impact of human actions on marine life and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a proper ecological balance. It highlights the negative consequences of human interference, such as disrupting the natural ocean ecosystem and endangering marine species through excessive fishing. The project aims to remind everyone to respect marine ecology by keeping a certain distance and avoiding attempts to confine them in aquariums, as this can be a misguided attempt at harmonizing with nature. The project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 14, focusing on life below water. The exhibit allows audiences to interact by passing sensors, causing a change in atmosphere and fish color from blue to red, representing dead fish. Cross-lighting of different fish groups highlights biodiversity and interdependence of the marine ecosystem. Once the audience moves past, the color returns to blue. If there’s no interaction for 10 minutes, the exhibit automatically turns off to conserve energy.
Embark on an enchanting projection mapping journey that celebrates Malaysia's rich cultural heritage collage. It commences with 3D films gracefully soaring through a window, each representing a distinct state. A seamless transition reveals a textured 3D building, from which elements cascade, symbolising Malaysia's diverse essence. Traditional candies and a kaleidoscope of "kuih muih" rain down, followed by intricate rattan craft and gleaming pewter creations, honouring local craftsmanship. The narrative gracefully transitions to embrace the harmonious blend of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures. Malay culture comes alive with wayang kulit and the serenity of mosques, while Chinese elements dance with dragons and ornate temples. Indian heritage unfolds through vibrant peacocks, traditional dances, majestic elephants, and sacred temples. The convergence of these cultures exudes a profound sense of unity and pride.
